Shane Robinson snatched a point for Drogheda with a last minute equaliser.
The winger punished a mistake by Barry Prenderville to shoot past Barry Ryan for Drogheda's eleventh draw of the season.
Drogheda had the better of the first half with Saints having Ryan to thank for keeping them in the match with a brilliant stop from Keith Fahey.
Saints then snatched the lead on 76 minutes when Ian Maher’s cross was forced home by Robbie Doyle.
