Schwarzenegger hints at run for re-election
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has all but declared he will seek re-election in 2006 - despite his plummeting approval ratings.
A recent survey by the nonpartisan Field Poll found that just 36 per cent of California's voters would support Schwarzenegger if he runs again, while 56 per cent would not.
But the former bodybuilder appears undeterred, telling a Clovis, California, crowd on Wednesday, "I'm not in this just for the short term. I believe very strongly in follow-through. Follow-through is the most important thing. If you start something you've got to finish it.
"You sent me to Sacramento to fix a broken system, and that's exactly what I'm going to do."
Schwarzenegger plans to make his official announcement on whether or not he'll run today during hit visit to San Diego.
