Bush thanks international community for response to disaster
14/09/2005 - 15:45:31US President George Bush today sent out a special thank you to the 115 countries that responded to the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina.
The clean-up effort continues on the Gulf Coast as people in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana attempt to re-build their lives.
He was addressing the media at the UN summit in New York, as the biggest meeting of world leaders in history began: “To every nation, every province and every community across the world that is standing with the American people in this hour of need I offer the thanks of my nation.”
