PDs: Groceries Order should be abolished
13/09/2005 - 16:49:40The Progressive Democrats said this afternoon they wanted to see the Groceries Order abolished.
The issue was discussed at today's parliamentary party meeting, where every member was allowed to put forward his or her views.
Earlier, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin indicated reform of the law was on the way.
Tánaiste Mary Harney said that while there were people in all parties who still supported the ban on below-cost selling, the PDs were making it clear where they stood.
