12/09/2005 - 16:32:16Fine Gael this afternoon said it was very encouraged by the latest opinion poll boost in support for both the party and its leader, Enda Kenny.
It said the focus now was on developing practical policies to make sure that converted into votes for a coalition with Labour at the next general election.
TDs, senators and MEPs are gearing up for the party's conference in Portlaoise tomorrow.
Deputy leader Richard Bruton said voters were looking for change and answers to key questions: “This is a signal that people want us to work hard for change, they're not going top give us blank cheque and we don’t expect it,” he said. “I think it's going to be rolling up sleeves time now for both parties to form that alternative which people are clearly signalling they want.”
