Five killed in road accidents this weekend
12/09/2005 - 07:24:43Five people died in three separate road accidents in Donegal, Mayo and Galway during the weekend.
Three of the fatalities happened last night when two men and a woman died in a collision between a number of cars and motorbikes in Co Donegal.
Several more people were injured in the pile-up, which happened at Ballintra, on the Ballyshannon to Donegal road, shortly after 6pm.
Elsewhere, a 22-year-old man died when the car he was travelling in crashed and overturned in Kilmaine village, near Ballinrobe in Co Mayo, yesterday morning.
An 18-year-old man also died in hospital yesterday afternoon from injuries he sustained when the car he was travelling in struck a wall on the Dublin Road in Galway city on Saturday morning.
