M50 toll company sees 40% increase in profits

The company that operates the tolls on Dublin's M50 motorway has announced a 40% increase in its operating profits for the first half of this year.

National Toll Roads said it made profits of €12.4m in the first six months of 2005, while its revenue was also up by more than a third to €169m over the same period.

It said the most of the growth was attributable to its wind farm subsidiary Airtricity.
