9/11 Tribute Centre opens in NYC

10/09/2005 - 07:50:55
A new visitor centre, in memory of the victims on 9/11, has opened at the site of Ground Zero in New York City.

It will be four years tomorrow since terrorists flew hi-jacked planes into the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon in Washington.

Sightseers still flood the area where the Twin Towers once stood, dominating the world famous Manhattan skyline.

Relatives of the thousands of innocent victims have been taken on a tour of the new tribute centre.

Former Mayor Rudolf Giuliani says it is "absolutely the appropriate way to deal with the site as future generations will judge us by how well we do this".
