Double doubt for Chelsea
Chelsea have doubts about England defender John Terry and goalkeeper Petr Cech ahead of tomorrow’s home clash with Sunderland.
Cech is suffering from a minor shoulder complaint but should be fit to play - Carlo Cudicini is on standby if he fails a fitness test.
Terry is a more serious concern for coach Jose Mourinho. The Chelsea defender was forced to miss England tow World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Northern Ireland with a knee injury that is expected to keep him out for four weeks.
Arjen Robben is fit again after playing for Holland in midweek while Mourinho may well decide to relegate struggling England midfielder Frank Lampard to the bench.
Right-back Glen Johnson, is reported by the club to be suffering from a thigh strain and misses out.
Provisional squad: Cech, Cudicini, Pidgeley, Ferreira, Gallas, Carvalho, Del Horno, Essien, Lampard, Joe Cole, Duff, Robben, Drogba, Makelele, Crespo, Wright-Phillips, Carlton Cole, Gudjohnsen, Geremi.
