Clare opt for double act

09/09/2005 - 20:57:02
The Clare county board have appointed a managerial double act to succeed John Kennedy after he stepped down as the Banner footballers' senior boss last week.

Former Galway player Michael Brennan and Kerry native Donie Buckley have been selected to take over in tandem.

They previously worked together as joint managers of college side NUIG.

Kennedy stepped down last week after three seasons in the hot seat.

Brennan is a brother of former Galway player Barry and featured as a substitute in the 1983 All-Ireland final against Dublin.

The duo, who both reside in the Clare town of Ennis, have been given two seasons to work their magic.
