Ahern insists Gardaí are not losing battle on crime
08/09/2005 - 12:28:45The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern has dismissed claims that the Gardaí are losing the battle on organised crime.
The Labour party said this morning that efforts to tackle gangland activity were obviously failing given the assassination of a known drug dealer in west Dublin yesterday.
However, speaking at the opening of a new biotech factory in the city this morning, Mr Ahern insisted that the Gardaí were cracking down on crime gangs.
He said he wished the opposition would be as vocal in praising the Gardaí when they enjoy success in their operations.
