07/09/2005 - 09:00:07
Indian Airlines has agreed to buy 43 Airbus jets for $2.2bn (€1.75bn), Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said today.

The prime minister announced the deal at an India-EU summit in New Delhi, saying: “we hope to raise our co-operation in the aviation sector.”

The deal follows news yesterday during visit by European leaders that China Southern Airlines agreed to buy 10 Airbus A330 jetliners.
