Soldiers open fire on Palestinians

Israeli soldiers opened fire at Palestinians marching toward an evacuated Gaza settlement tonight, wounding three, one critically, Palestinian rescue workers said.

The Israeli military said it knew of a demonstration at the scene but not about gunfire.

Israel evacuated all 221 settlements two weeks ago, and up to now Palestinian forces have kept demonstrators away from them.
