Limerick name minor side

Limerick manager Timmy O'Connor has made one adjustment to his side ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland minor hurling final against Galway at Croke Park (throw-in 1.30pm).

The Shannonsiders confirmed their line-up last night and in the only change from last month's 0-15 to 0-12 semi-final defeat of Dublin, Sean Browne replaces Richard McCarthy at right corner back.

Ballybrown defender Brian Quinn is named amongst the replacements having recovered from the fractured wrist injury he sustained in club action in July. Widely regarded as Limerick's star player, Quinn had the cast removed last week.

O'Connor, whose squad had a quick run-out at Croke Park in the aftermath of Sunday's Tyrone v Armagh senior football clash, said: "We have a great opportunity to show that we are a very good team. A major factor in Limerick reaching this final has been the terrific work which has been carried out with developing young players in the county. It is paying dividends."

O'Connor's side are the first minor team from Limerick to reach a Croke Park decider since 1965. Despite their recent Under-21 All-Ireland three-in-a-row (2000-2002), the Shannonsiders have not won a title at minor level since 1984.

Sunday's opponents Galway are due to announce their starting XV tonight after training.

LIMERICK (MHC v Galway): G Flynn; S Browne, L Hurley, T Condon; J Kelly, D Moloney, G O'Mahony; D Moore, S Hickey; D Hanley, J Ryan, B O'Sullivan; M Ryan, E Ryan, D O'Sullivan.
