Clooney rejects fan's scooter gift
05/09/2005 - 10:57:29Hollywood heart-throb George Clooney turned down the gift of a red scooter sent to him by an adoring Italian fan.
Rita Bellacosa, 33, sent the Ocean's Twelve hunk the $5,400 (€4,303) bike with a ribbon attached and a note on the windscreen - but Clooney's staff at his villa in Lake Como sent it straight back to the dealer.
They said: "He never accepts presents from strangers, especially such bizarre ones."
A spokesperson for the scooter firm said: "A Rome client paid us to deliver it and we did. Now the machine is hers, I suppose, although there's no answer at home."
