Powergen owner considers Scottish Power takeover
05/09/2005 - 19:48:18The owner of the Powergen brand in the UK confirmed today that it was weighing up a takeover bid for Scottish Power.
German utility E.On said it was “considering its options” after revealing its interest in the wake of a 4% rise in the share price of Scottish Power today.
No approach had yet been made to the board of £10bn(€14.7bn)-valued Scottish Power, but E.On said any offer was likely to be made in cash.
