Sligo reappoint Corrigan

01/09/2005 - 10:47:07
Dominic Corrigan has been reappointed as manager of Sligo's senior, Under-21 and junior footballers for a second year.

The Fermanagh native, who took control of the Yeats' men last November, had his appointment officially ratified at a Sligo County Board meeting in Ballisodare on Tuesday night.

Corrigan helped Sligo to three championship wins in 2005 before bowing out of the All-Ireland race at the last-16 stage to Cork.

Corrigan's nomination was backed by County Board chiarman Joe Queenan, who told the Sligo Champion last month: "He (Corrigan) has re-united the county (with the three championship wins). He has done a good job and I am happy with his performance - he is a gentleman to work with."

Former player Paul Durcan will remain on as a selector, although both Neil Egan and Tommy Breheny have been forced to withdraw their selectorial duty due to business commitments.

Corrigan is expected to confirm his backroom team before the end of the month.
