No Glory for Haydock
31/08/2005 - 09:06:50Resplendent Glory misses this Saturday’s William Hill Sprint Cup at Haydock after picking up an injury that will probably rule him out until next season.
It will come as a blow to ante-post punters, who backed the Terry Mills-trained three-year-old into as low as 12-1 for the six-furlong sprint yesterday.
Mills’ assistant Richard Ryan told the Racing Post: “He’s had a setback that will probably keep him out for the season. It’s absolute agony as we think he’s the real deal.
“It’s such a shame that he did not get a tilt at a Group One this year but he’s going to be awesome when he gets the chance.”
Resplendent Glory has won six of his seven career starts and was last seen beating Lafi a short head in the Group Three Sprint Stakes at Sandown in July.
