Pompey sign Danish international Friske

22/08/2005 - 12:08:44
Portsmouth have signed defender Brian Friske on a three-year deal from Genk.

The Denmark international, who played in last week’s 4-1 drubbing in England, has joined the Premiership club for an undisclosed fee.

It follows a poor start to the season which has seen Pompey go down to two consecutive defeats.

Chief executive Peter Storrie told the club’s official website, www.pompeyfc.com: “Brian is a very versatile defender who is a right back for his country and played centre back for his club.

“I think he showed people his capabilities in the win over England.”

Subject to international clearance, Friske will be in the Portsmouth squad for tomorrow’s game with Aston Villa.
