Woman escapes abduction bid
A woman was left shaken after she managed to break free during an attempted abduction in Strabane early today.
Detectives said the woman, in her 30s, was walking along the Melvin Road, off Bridge Street, at about 12.30am when two men attempted to drag her into a white van.
Their victim struggled and managed to break free, running off towards the Ballycolman Estate.
It is believed the van was parked in the area for a time before the incident.
One of the men was described as tall, with blond hair and a heavy build. His accomplice was of medium build and wearing a baseball cap.
The woman was not hurt but was shaken by the incident.
