Edu suffers cruciate nightmare
20/08/2005 - 16:50:04Valencia were dealt a hammer blow on Saturday when their key summer signing Edu was ruled out for most of the season.
The 27-year-old Brazilian midfielder, signed from Arsenal in June, ruptured his cruciate ligaments in a training match on Saturday.
He will need surgery and normally such an injury needs six months to heal although a statement on the club website declined to give a time limit on how long the player is likely to be sidelined.
