Advisory group demands action on workplace bullying

A Department of Enterprise advisory group has called on the Government and employers to take immediate action to tackle the problem of workplace bullying.

The group said an estimated 140,000 employees experienced bullying in the workplace every day.

In a report published today, it said legislation should be introduced to require all employers to establish anti-bullying procedures.

The group said workplace bullying was an increasing problem in Ireland and existing measures to tackle the problem were insufficient.
