Parliament ' to decide on final points'

15/08/2005 - 19:06:54
Iraqi leaders have signed a draft constitution but left two unspecified issues to be resolved by the full parliament, two Shiite officials said today.

Nasar al-Rubaie, a member of the committee drafting the document, said the document would be handed over to the 275-member National Assembly late today for a decision on the two unresolved issues.

Jalaldin al-Saghir, a Shiite member of parliament, said the same thing and also refused to identify the two remaining issues.

“An agreement has been reached on the constitution and it was signed and it will be handed to parliament,” he said. ”There are two points that the National Assembly will have to solve.”
