Small businesses 'can't cope with rising costs'
15/08/2005 - 16:04:40The Government has been asked to control rising business costs, as most small business say their profits are dropping.
ISME, the small and medium business group, has conducted a survey which says that 80% of businesses are losing profits due to the spiralling costs involved in running a business.
"It's about time the Government looked at their costs and stopped allowing costs to rise across the board," says the chief executive of ISME, Mark Fielding.
He is calling for the setting up of a small business forum to "study the competition and competitiveness of small businesses in Ireland".
