McKenna to stay on for Limerick

10/08/2005 - 12:13:12
South Liberties clubman Joe McKenna has agreed to stay on as Limerick hurling manager for another two years.

Last night's meeting of the Limerick county board ratified McKenna to continue in the post he took over from Pad Joe Whelehan in April.

Board chairman Denis Holmes has praised McKenna for leading Limerick to the All-Ireland quarter-final despite the short amount of time he had to prepare the squad.

Former All-star forward McKenna, who runs a successful hardward business in the city, will announce his selectors at a Board meeting in September.
