Three saved from B&B blaze
02/08/2005 - 11:22:08Three men were rescued from a bed and breakfast in Drogheda after a fire broke out, gardaí said today.
The blaze, which destroyed the house in the Georges Street, North Road area of the town, was spotted by a passing taxi driver at around 3am this morning.
An ambulance and team of fire fighters were called to the scene and three men, all believed to be in their 30s, were taken from the house. They were rushed to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
A garda spokeswoman said the B&B was completely gutted in the blaze. The cause of the fire is not yet known but it is not believed to be suspicious.
A garda technical team were called to the scene where they were due to carry out an examination.
