Ramsay cooks up a storm on Leno show
Gordon Ramsay turned a television studio into Hell’s Kitchen when he got into a food fight on a US chat show.
The outspoken Scot appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote the American version of his hit reality show.
But when he invited the comedian to learn how to make tortellini pasta from scratch things descended into chaos.
Leno complained that it would be much easier to “open a box”, prompting Ramsay to criticise his messy kitchen and brand the host “a bit of a chunky monkey”.
Ramsay then blew flour into Leno’s face and was rapidly doused in food himself before Leno bolted off the stage.
“It was all done in fun, there was nothing serious about it,” an NBC spokesperson was quick to point out.
Ramsay has proved an instant hit in the US where his Hell’s Kitchen series has won top ratings. The show, in which 12 aspiring chefs compete for their own Los Angeles restaurant, has seen Ramsay reduce several contestants to tears with his trademark expletives.
