Fans' delight at second Dublin Dylan date

Bob Dylan is to perform an extra concert in Dublin after the tickets for his first gig were snapped up in 90 minutes, it was confirmed today.

The legendary song-writer will step onto the stage at the Point Theatre in the capital for a second concert on November 27.

All 8,000 tickets for the November 26 gig were sold out in under two hours yesterday. Aiken Promotions said a second concert was added to his schedule due to the phenomenal demand from Irish fans.

Dylan, who last performed in Ireland in 2004, has sold over 56 million records across the world during his 40-year career.

The singer, who tours relentlessly, has penned more than 450 compositions including classics like Blowin’ in the Wind, The Times They Are A Changin’, Like A Rolling Stone, Forever Young and Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.

Tickets for the November 27 concert, priced €54.50 and €49, go on sale on Wednesday August 3 at 9am.
