More bad luck for Healy
Sunderland midfielder Colin Healy has suffered further heartbreak as he looks to return from a second broken leg.
The 24-year-old, who has not played for the Black Cats since breaking his leg for the first time against Coventry in 2003, has had to undergo surgery on his knee.
Healy is now facing another three months on the sidelines – a bitter blow to the Irishman who was eyeing a comeback after breaking the same leg during training 10 months ago.
Sunderland manager Mick McCarthy told the club’s official website, www.safc.com: “Unfortunately Colin’s had another operation, on his knee and it means another rehab for him.
“To say he has been unfortunate is a massive understatement.
“The break has been healing absolutely perfectly, but this knee cartilage problem is a secondary one since he’s started training again.”
