Jason retires from Only Fools and Horses
Veteran actor David Jason has refused to revisit his beloved Only Fools and Horses character Del Boy, after deeming himself too old to play the cockney conman.
Award-winning Jason, 65, last appeared on the small screen as cheeky Del Boy in the Christmas 2003 special Sleepless in Peckham, but has decided the episode of the long-running British TV comedy was his last.
Co-star Sue Holderness, who plays Boycie's wife Marlene, says: "David thinks he's too old to play Del now.
"For the last three years, John (Sullivan - writer) has thought maybe David would decided to do more because everyone else wanted to. But I think he's got the message now and sadly there won't be any more episodes."
Only Fools And Horses - the story of two London brothers struggling to earn a living by selling illegal goods - first hit TV screens in 1981.
