SFA uphold Livingston fine

25/07/2005 - 20:38:26
The Scottish Football Association have upheld the decision of the Scottish Premier League to fine Livingston over the Hassan Kachloul affair, leaving Dundee relegated to the Bell’s First Division.

The Moroccan was signed by the West Lothian club in March on an amateur basis outside of the transfer window but was found to have been paid.

Dundee, who dropped into the First Division after a 1-1 draw at Livi on the final day of the SPL season, were left furious that the top flight board only fined the Almondvale club £15,000 instead of docking points and took the issue to the governing body.

However, after a marathon all-day meeting in Edinburgh today, the SFA have now decided the fine should remain as punishment, leaving the Dark Blues to begin life in the Scottish Football League next season.
