Marine Institute calls for specialised climate change group
25/07/2005 - 14:08:28The Marine Institute has called for the establishment of an expert group to advise the Government on how to manage the impact of climate change.
In a report published today, the Institute said Irish marine life would experience major challenges as a result of changes in weather patterns associated with global warming.
However, it said climate change could also bring benefits like the possibility of developing new fisheries for tuna and shellfish.
