Gardaí probe Limerick gang shooting
Gardaí are investigating three separate shootings in a Limerick housing estate in as many days.
Shots were fired last Friday afternoon and again on Sunday afternoon in the Ballinacurra Weston area of the city at around 4.30pm.
Gardaí were again called to the area in the early hours this morning after more shots were fired shortly after 1.30am.
The latest shooting took place in a green area adjacent to Garryglass Avenue in Ballinacurra Weston in the early hours of this morning when at least one shot was fired.
Nobody was injured in the shooting which gardaí believe is linked to a localised feud between rival factions which has begun to simmer in recent days.
More shots were fired in the same area of Garryglass Avenue at 4.30pm on Sunday afternoon and at the same time on Friday afternoon.
Gardaí have seized a number of baseball bats following searches of houses and ground in the area but so far no firearms have been recovered.
