Python's Spamalot to hit Las Vegas
25/07/2005 - 16:25:34Monty Python’s Spamalot is to hit Las Vegas, opening in a custom-built theatre for a potential 10-year run.
The madcap musical was snapped up by casino impresario Steve Wynn, who plans to stage the show at a cost of more than €40m.
The abridged 90-minute version of Eric Idle’s smash hit will open in 2007.
The Spamalot Experience and Grail Theatre will be designed by Idle and set and costume designer Tim Hatley, according to Variety magazine.
Meanwhile, the show will go on US national tour next year, kicking off in Boston.
Spamalot opened on Broadway in March and continues to play to sold-out audiences. It picked up three Tonys last month, including best musical.
