Pacific acquires PRP Ireland
Pacific Technology Group has today announced that it has acquired PRP Ireland Ltd.
Established in 1999 Pacific has offices in Cork, Galway and Dublin. It has grown rapidly and now employs 40 people with a turnover on course to exceed €10m this year.
The acquisition of PRP will add around €2m to this figure. Based in Carrigaline, Co Cork, PRP specialises in plastic processing, supplying the electronics industry with packaging products including carrier tubes, profiles and thermoformed trays.
Pacific Technology Group Managing Director Ger Scriven said: “This is another very positive development for the company. The acquisition of PRP will significantly increase our manufacturing capabilities and our involvement in the electronics industry.
"We look forward to expanding PRPs already impressive customer base to include for example companies in the medical device sector. We are committed to growing PRP and expect to increase the workforce from 12 to 20 people by the end of 2005."
Douglas Kelleher, Managing Director of PRP Ireland said: "I am convinced that our business will go from strength to strength now that we have joined the Pacific Group."
This announcement comes shortly after Pacific IT, another company within the group was named by Hewlett Packard as it’s fastest growing partner in Western Europe.
Sales of HP products through Pacific IT were 263% ahead of target for the month of March alone.
