ISEQ slips in opening trading

The ISEQ slipped 31.56 in today's opening trading to close the day at 6,766.38.

Eircom - which today confirmed the company is to buy mobile phone operator Meteor for €420m, subject to shareholder and regulatory approval - fell 14c to €1.73.

Shares in Allied Irish Bank slipped 12c to €18.08 while Bank of Ireland shares fell 8c to €13.75.

Anglo Irish Bank shares were unchanged at €11.30. Irish Life & Permanent fell 5c to €14.85.

FBD Holdings saw shares climb 20c to €29.70.

Budget airline Ryanair fell 17c to €6.62 today.

Kingspan, which today appointed Lorcan Dowd as the new Group Company Secretary, slipped 3c to €10.52 today.

The most traded shares today are AIB, eircom, Anglo Irish Bank, CRH and Bank of Ireland.
