Three investigations planned into Aer Lingus document
Aer Lingus is reportedly facing three separate investigations following media claims that it drew up a plan designed to push employees towards accepting voluntary redundancy.
Yesterday's newspapers said the company had considered introducing awkward shift patters, tedious training programmes and tacky uniforms to make life difficult for staff.
However, Aer Lingus insisted this was a gross misrepresentation of a discussion document that was never implemented and never would be implemented.
Reports this morning said the airline is now facing investigations into the matter by Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin, the Department of Transport and the Oireachtas Transport Committee.
Politicians and union leaders have condemned the airline for even discussing the measures described in the document, which Minister Martin has described as "juvenile".
