50 jobs to be created in €53m R&D investments

Minister for Enterprise Micheál Martin says 50 jobs will be created as part of plans by five US companies to create research and development investments in Ireland.

The investments, totalling just over €53m and supported by the IDA, are being planned by Xilinx, Bristol Myers Squibb, Pfizer, Citigroup and Genzyme.

Minister Martin said these companies were among the world's leading multinationals and their decision to invest in Ireland was "a serious achievement".
