Limerick opt for Cunningham as selector
19/07/2005 - 12:06:55The Limerick County Board has wasted little time in installing a replacement for the departed Declan Nash - confirming hurling team coach Ger Cunningham for the position of senior selector.
Nash resigned as selector yesterday and a decision on a replacement was not expected until after the Shannonsiders' All-Ireland SHC quarter-final with Kilkenny next Sunday.
However, Cunningham accepted the offer, and he will now work alongside fellow selector Liam Lenihan, under manager Joe McKenna.
Cunningham helped Cork's Newtownshandrum to the All-Ireland club title last year.
