Ronaghan, McQuaid dropped from Monaghan panel
Raymond Ronaghan and Gary McQuaid, who both kicked a point against Wexford last Saturday, have been dropped from the Monaghan squad for disciplinary reasons.
The Tyholland duo, who were due to be named tonight in the Farney county side for tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC third round qualifier against Louth, breached manager Seamus McEnaney's code of conduct after the five-point defeat of Wexford last weekend.
Ronaghan and McQuaid, who lined out in the Farney's two championship outings against Armagh and Longford last summer, were influential in helping Monaghan open up a three-point gap at the break against Wexford, six days ago.
Meanwhile, Limerick's hurlers could be without midfielder Donal O'Grady for their All-Ireland SHC quarter-final against Kilkenny on Sunday, July 31.
O'Grady is facing a race against time for the clash with the Cats after it was revealed that the Granagh/Ballingarry player had broken his thumb in last weekend's qualifier loss to Galway.
The 25-year-old played on with the injury, and is relying on a quick recovery to make Croke Park in two weeks' time.
