Collins commits to Rovers' cause
Shamrock Rovers manager Roddy Collins has insisted he will not leave the club despite rumours that the manager could be on his way out.
Collins said: “There has also been a lot of speculation about my own position at Shamrock Rovers.
“Outside influences are trying to be disruptive by making statements saying that I would be sacked from the club when the 400 Club take over, or that my contract would be paid up and I would be let go, or I was prepared to walk away because of the financial restrictions.
“But I want to say that it is a million miles away from the truth. I am the manager of the best club in Ireland and I appreciate that it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to manage a club like Shamrock Rovers.
“I have that job and I intend to stay in it and my focus is to keep this club in the League,” he concluded in his programme notes for tonight's clash with Derry.
