Strabane: Adria textile firm to lay off 185 more staff
15/07/2005 - 11:55:53The Adria textile firm has announced plans to lay off a further 185 workers at its plant in Strabane, Co Tyrone.
In March, the company also shed 175 jobs at the factory.
The latest announcement is being described as a devastating blow to the local economy.
Thousands of people were once employed in the textile industry in the North, but lay-offs and factory closures have become commonplace in recent years due to lower manufacturing costs in Asia.
