Adams stays silent on IRA statement speculation

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams this afternoon remained tight-lipped about an anticipated statement from the IRA on future disarmament.

Following a meeting with the Taoiseach in Dublin, he expressed confidence that the Good Friday Agreement would be implemented eventually.

Mr Adams refused to speculate about the timing of any announcement by the IRA. "Let’s give time to these people to sort out this matter," he said.
