Cerys names son after Tom Jones
15/07/2005 - 16:22:03Former Catatonia star Cerys Matthews has name her newborn son Jones because she went into labour on the way to see her idol Tom Jones.
The Road Rage singer is such a huge fan of her fellow Welsh crooner and wrote The Ballad Of Tom Jones about him and later performed a duet with the star on the single Baby It's Cold Outside.
She was so stunned her contractions started en route to Jones' gig, she phoned him to inform him she would name her child after him.
She revealed: "I'm doing pretty well. It's just pretty amazing."
The 36-year-old mother has yet to decided whether Jones - already a common Welsh surname - will be the baby's first or middle name.
