Parents pay tribute to their 'super lad'
The parents of a man who was killed in last week’s London bombings paid tribute to their “super lad” today.
David Foulkes, 22, recently started work with the Guardian newspaper in media sales, and had travelled to London last Thursday to meet a colleague.
He was killed in the explosion near Edgware Road underground station.
Today his parents and younger sister, with whom he lived in Oldham, Greater Manchester, spoke of their loss.
In a statement, Graham and Janet Foulkes said: “David was in London thrilled at beginning his new career. This was only the third time he had travelled to the city on his own.
“David and his girlfriend were very much in love and their plans for the future were set.
“David was a super lad who would never do anyone any harm. It is beyond us why anyone would want to harm him.
“Our thoughts are with all the other families who have suffered in this appalling incident.”
