Hulse hurt in friendly

14/07/2005 - 16:12:32
Leeds striker Rob Hulse has been ruled out of action for at least a fortnight after suffering ankle ligament damage.

Hulse was withdrawn during the first half of the 1-0 friendly defeat to FC Haugesund in Norway.

“Rob’s going to be out for a couple of weeks,” confirmed boss Kevin Blackwell. “We’ll have it scanned when we get back to Leeds but for the meantime he’s had it strapped up and immobilised.

“We now have to work on getting Rob right for the games at the end of the month and hope he can build up his match fitness in those,” he added on the club’s official website, www.lufc.com.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Neil Sullivan has been told he can return to full training next week after undergoing surgery on his shoulder and Steve Stone is making steady progress after tearing his Achilles.

But there was further bad news for Blackwell following the hard-fought “friendly” clash with Haugesund, with Seth Johnson forced to miss training following a knock on his knee.
