Ahern favours continuation of social partnership process
14/07/2005 - 11:09:12The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has said he favours a continuation of the social partnership process involving the Government, employers, trade unions and community groups.
Speaking at a meeting of the social partners in Dublin today, Mr Ahern said the process had a good record of success in underpinning Ireland's economic and social transformation in recent years.
The Taoiseach also used his speech to reiterate the Government's commitment to decentralisation, which he said was vital to achieving regional balance and alleviating congestion in Dublin.
