Ministers and top civil servants in line for pay rises
13/07/2005 - 07:32:12A group set up by the Government to review public service pay levels has reportedly recommended pay rises of between 6% and 8% for ministers and senior civil servants.
The group was established in April, with people like judges, hospital consultants, health service managers and senior local authority officials invited to make submissions.
It was asked to recommend pay increases if it found that "serious anomalies or inequities exist".
Reports this morning said the group's proposals would be discussed by the Cabinet today, but a decision on whether to award the pay increases could be delayed until September.
