Police scrutinising CCTV tapes in hunt for London bombers
British police are scrutinising around 2,500 CCTV tapes in the hope of discovering who was responsible for last week's bomb attacks on transport targets in London.
Tapes from the sites of the four bombings are being scoured for clues that could help identify the suspected Islamic extremists responsible for the atrocity.
Police believe the three bombs on the trains were probably planted by separate people who remain at large.
The bomb on the bus may also have been planted, but there are suggestions that it may have exploded at the wrong time and that the bomber may have been on board.
Meanwhile, it emerged today that US military personnel based in Suffolk were told not to enter London in the wake of last Thursday's attacks.
The message flies in the face of the stance of the British authorities, who have told Londoners to get back to normal and not give in to terrorism.
