UK reports slight rise in inflation

The UK's Consumer Prices Index rose to 2% in June from 1.9% in May, official figures showed today.

The underlying rate of RPI inflation increased to 2.2% last month from 2.1% in May, the British Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.

The headline rate of RPI inflation, which includes mortgage interest payments, was unchanged in June at 2.9% the previous month, the ONS said.
